A ‘Metaverse’ describes virtual spaces that users can design, alter, and experience in real time. They are places where people can work, play, learn, or interact socially. The Metaverse can be seen as a next step in the way we use and experience the Internet.
The term was first used in Neal Stephenson’s 1992 novel ‘Snow Crash.’ Today, many technology companies are working on turning this vision into reality. It is a very current concept whose exact definition is still subject to ongoing debates and experiments.
The Landesgalerie itself is a virtual art gallery located in an existing Metaverse, aimed at promoting digital and analogue art and exploring new technologies. Our mission is to provide talented artists with a platform to exhibit and sell their work in virtual form. In doing so, we encourage innovative projects in AI, VR, and AR to unlock new dimensions of artistic creativity.
The Landesgalerie also aims to create a vibrant and diverse community of developers, artists, collectors, and enthusiasts by stimulating collaboration, networking, and the exchange of ideas. Through exhibitions, workshops, and events, both in virtual space and physical space, we bring together like-minded people who share our vision for the future.
